Not everyone musters the confidence to enter an ancient and abandoned house since we never know what lurks behind the door on the other side or what dangers lie ahead. Leslie Muir is on the lookout for and photographing abandoned dwellings. So, a few years ago, she went into a house that had been upsetting her for a long time and “simply took her heart,” as she put it at the time. The route leading to this location has been covered with weeds for a long time, the roof has fallen, and the ancient and unkempt aspect simply indicated that no human foot had gone there in a long time.
When the girl went inside, she was about to start taking photos, when she suddenly realized that she was not alone there … Leslie heard some sounds and went to see what was there. She found a lonely old Lawrence in the living room.
“It was difficult for him to move around, so he spent most of his time there,” she said.
His appearance was only terrifying; in reality, he is a very pleasant, kind, and kind individual. Lawrence has become acquainted with him since then. The girl began to visit him on a daily basis, cleaning the house and preparing meals. They ate lunch or supper together frequently.
Leslie found out that the man was hit by a bull and crushed his thigh, but before that he suffered a stroke and all this led to him being partially paralyzed, so it took the man four whole days to seek medical help.
Leslie noticed that Lawrence’s health began to deteriorate, so she moved him from his crumbling house to a local nursing home. And now he is happy, at least he is among other people.
The girl still continues to visit the old man, bringing her dog named Violet to him, and her mother prepares gifts for him.
“He just needs a friend… someone who can make sure he’s okay,” Muir says. She hopes that Lawrence’s story will encourage people to start communicating again with those with whom they have lost contact for some reason. “Although they are all elderly people, their souls are still full of life, and I feel happy that I met him,” says Leslie.
And the old man feels the same about meeting her: “I’ve always been a lonely person, but she brought my life to life.”
