A grandmother was seated near a shop, seeking alms. Normally, I refrain from giving money in such situations, believing in providing opportunities for people to earn.
While I had a suspicion that some individuals might use the money for alcohol, this elderly lady seemed different.
I decided to offer her some change, and in response, she expressed genuine gratitude, leading me to believe she might have been a teacher in the past.
Later, as I headed to the store and purchased my items, I noticed the grandmother walking down the same street. Curiosity led me to follow her, and I discovered she entered a run-down building that resembled a barn.
Peering through a window, I observed her arranging the food she had just bought – bread, butter, and milk. I entered and, despite her initial fear, we began talking.
I learned that the old barn had become her home just two months ago. After her husband’s passing, her children claimed the apartment, leaving her with only this deteriorated structure.
Her entire pension went towards medications, leaving no funds for food, leading her to resort to begging. Touched by her plight, I decided to seek help for this unfortunate and lonely woman. I shared her story on social networks, appealing for assistance.
Remarkably, there are many compassionate people in the world. One individual donated winter clothes, while another generous woman offered her a house in the countryside with nearly all amenities.
I frequently visit her, expressing gratitude to everyone who extended a helping hand during that challenging period.
