Robert De Niro has shared his thoughts on the impending fatherhood of Al Pacino. Moreover, the actor expressed his joy over the recent birth of his own daughter.
De Niro, in his seventies, surprised many by revealing the birth of his newborn daughter, Gia, with 45-year-old Tiffany Chen as the child’s mother. Shortly after this announcement, it was revealed that 83-year-old Al Pacino is also soon to become a father, with his partner Noor Alfallah eight months pregnant.
While this marks De Niro’s seventh child, Pacino already has three children.
When questioned if he had conveyed his congratulations to his long-time co-star, De Niro admitted that he hadn’t yet done so, stating, “Not yet. I just found out about it … But I’m happy for him.”
Following the news of Pacino’s impending fatherhood, online discussions ignited about which of the two stars was more attractive in their youth, leading to ongoing debates in the comment sections. When asked about this matter, De Niro diplomatically responded to ET online, saying, “I don’t know what to say. 50/50.”
Later, on the Today show, Robert reiterated his happiness for Pacino, highlighting Pacino’s seniority over him. “Look, Al Pacino’s also expecting a baby soon, I was informed yesterday morning, and he’s a few years older than me. Good for him, I’m truly delighted for him,” the actor stated.
Concerning his own situation, the Oscar winner conveyed that being a father again has brought him comfort, with his little girl serving as inspiration. Although he doesn’t handle all the responsibilities, he does his best, finding the experience “simply wonderful.”
Robert, a father of seven, believes he has reached a new level of awareness at his age. Despite his understanding of family dynamics growing with age, he continues to find the experience of learning new things gratifying.
“I’ve attained a certain awareness – as you grow older, you develop an understanding of life’s elements, including family dynamics. You inevitably learn how to handle and manage them. It’s remarkable, but I’m genuinely excited about it,” De Niro concluded.
