Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter, Zahara Marley, shares a surprising decision she made in college…

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter, now 18, began attending university last year, a decision she made independently.

The couple has a total of six children, including adopted children Maddox Chivan (22), Pax Tien (19), and Zahara Marley, whom Jolie adopted from Ethiopia. Last year, as Jolie dropped off her daughter at school in Atlanta, she gained attention for becoming emotional during their parting.

In a video shared by Dr. Daryl Holloman, the university’s vice president for student affairs, Jolie expressed her emotions to the school’s president, Dr. Helene Gale. In response to how she felt off camera, Jolie mentioned, “I’m going to start crying” and expressed her joy at being referred to as “Spelman’s mom.”

Now, a video released by Essence reveals that 18-year-old Zahara, who now goes by Zahara Spelman, has made a significant decision during her time at college.

The footage captures her dancing on stage during her initiation into the historically African-American sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA). Essence’s Instagram post noted, “Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Zahra Marley Jolie Pitt has been accepted into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority at Spelman College! Congratulations!”

The caption highlighted other notable AKA sorority members, including director Ava DuVernay, Vice President Kamala Harris, Rosa Parks, Toni Morrison, Robin Roberts, and Jada Pinkett-Smith.

In the video, Zahara proudly declares her name, origin, and her status as an AKA Sister, expressing enthusiasm for her new initiation into the sisterhood.

Commenters on the post praised Zahara for maintaining a connection with her roots and race despite being raised by white parents.

The sentiment was heartwarming, with one commenter commending Jolie for ensuring her daughter has a cultural experience. The overall response conveyed best wishes to Zahara for her college journey.
