The destinies of the actors who portrayed the main characters in the renowned film saga have taken diverse paths.
While Daniel Radcliffe continued his acting career, Rupert Grint closely followed suit. However, Emma Watson, who critics once foresaw a string of successful projects throughout her life, transitioned behind the scenes.
The actress has shied away from the camera since 2018. Although her final film, “Little Women,” achieved commercial success and earned an Oscar, it left an impact on the actress’s spirit.
Emma recently experienced dissatisfaction as directors failed to consider her perspective on the female characters.
“I didn’t have the right to vote,” Emma Watson revealed as the reason she refrained from film projects for five years.
“I felt confined, like I was in a cage. Each time, during film premieres, journalists inquired about my thoughts regarding the characters I portrayed. I struggled to respond to them, as it was challenging to endorse a project over which I had no creative control,” she clarified during an interview with the Financial Times.
The actress further explained that she now seeks to engage only in roles that reflect her own merit.
“And if they critique me, I can acknowledge without self-reproach – yes, I fell short; it was my choice, and I am capable of more,” Emma stated.
To clarify, Emma Watson is not concluding her acting career.
