A policewoman breastfeeds an unwanted baby as hospital staff are too busy… Then…

The woman pictured is Celeste Ayala, a young mother and police officer.

While on duty at the hospital, Celeste noticed a little boy who had been brought in by ambulance, showing signs of exhaustion.

The child had been removed from a neglectful family situation, but the hospital staff was too occupied to tend to him immediately. Being a mother herself and still breastfeeding her own daughter, Celeste had an abundance of milk during her shift. Without hesitation, she compassionately breastfed the hungry abandoned baby right in the hospital corridor.

This heartwarming act was brought to the public’s attention when Officer Marcos Heredia of the Buenos Aires police shared a photo of his colleague breastfeeding the child on Facebook. The post quickly went viral, garnering over 112 thousand likes and drawing widespread media attention in Argentina.

In an interview with the Cronica newspaper, Celeste described her feelings that day: “I noticed that the child was hungry; he put his fists in his mouth. I asked to hold him, asked if he could be fed. It was a very sad moment. My heart broke as I looked at him. Society should be attentive to such situations; we must ensure that this does not happen.”

Coincidentally, this heartwarming incident occurred on August 14, which happens to be the day when female police officers celebrate their professional holiday in Argentina.

As a result, the story reached the Minister of Security, who invited Celeste to a reception, expressed gratitude, and promoted her to the rank of sergeant.
