It all began when Nicholson found himself faced with an unusual decision. There was no one else prepared to sing the national anthem before the school’s big game. He could have taken the easy route, allowing a recorded version to play over the loudspeakers or letting the crowd tackle the anthem themselves. But Nicholson, clearly a young man of unique character, had a different plan in mind.
Standing alone in the center of the pitch, armed with only an acoustic guitar and a microphone, Nicholson embarked on a remarkable performance.
