A heartwarming incident in Istanbul captured the attention of the internet recently, as a street dog took matters into its own paws by walking up to a local pharmacy in search of help for its injured paw. The canine stood at the entrance, catching the eye of pharmacist Banu Cengiz, who promptly tended to the dog’s bleeding paw. The endearing creature even placed its paw on Banu’s hand, expressing gratitude for the care it received. In return, Banu cleaned the wound, administered medication, and provided the dog with nourishment and hydration.
Moved by the dog’s gesture, Banu shared, “When I finished, she lay down as if to show her appreciation. It was as if she was saying, ‘I trust you’.” Notably, Cengiz has a designated space near her pharmacy where she looks after stray dogs that she cannot personally adopt. Her motivation stems from recognizing that these animals possess emotions and require assistance. Furthermore, she encourages individuals to impart love and respect for animals and nature to their children, fostering a harmonious coexistence among all living beings in the world.
