There’s this little creature living in Southeast Asia that you’ve likely never seen or heard about until now.
Meet the Colugo, also known as “flying lemurs,” although they aren’t lemurs and they don’t actually fly. Instead, they glide! They have a furry membrane that allows them to soar through the air for distances of up to 200 meters (660 ft) between trees.
Similar to bats and flying squirrels, colugos are active at night. Because of this, we don’t know much about their behavior.
In the video below, scientists attached a tiny camera to a colugo, giving us a first-person perspective of what it’s like to fly alongside one. It’s truly an incredible experience! It makes me wonder why there are still so many unknown animals out there.
