Nicole Kidman Opens Up About Post-Divorce Depression Following Split from Tom Cruise

Nicole Kidman has opened up about her experience with depression following her divorce from Tom Cruise. The couple, who were considered one of Hollywood’s most beautiful pairs, faced difficulties during the filming of “Eyes Wide Shut” in 2001, which ultimately led to their breakup. Kidman expressed that the news of the divorce came as a real shock to her in previous interviews.

Shortly after the divorce, Kidman took on the role of Virginia Woolf in the film “The Hours,” for which she received a Golden Globe award for Best Actress. However, the overall experience of working on the movie was challenging for her, and she has only recently decided to discuss it.

During an interview with BBC Radio 4, Kidman revealed, “Looking back, I realize that I didn’t consider the danger I was exposing myself to at that time. It was like I was putting stones in my pocket and stepping into a river.” She further explained that she was not in the best state of mind during that period but found a connection with Virginia’s character due to her vulnerability. The director of the film was understanding of her situation and treated her with care.

By sharing her feelings and reflecting on this difficult time in her life, Kidman offers a glimpse into the emotional challenges she faced after her divorce and the impact it had on her mental well-being.
