More than 300 people tell goodbye to their postman who worked for 34 years…

In his more than 34 years as Marietta’s mailman, Martin has managed to win the hearts of everybody in the neighborhood. From the eldest to the smallest, they have all grown to love Martin and wave to him every week from their windows.

When Martin returned home, he used to bring treats for the kids, the dogs, and the cats. All animals were therefore aware of the postman’s benevolence.

Martin nonetheless decided to retire in 2018, and on May 23 he finished his last delivery route in the region. The turns on this path were numerous. After receiving the news, local Jennifer made plans for Martin in front of more than 300 neighbors.

Martin was taken aback by the embellishments on each mailbox, which included the phrase “Mr. Floyd,” the word “love,” and other symbols. They also made the decision to give him heartfelt hugs, which converted that day into a special send-off party.

Jennifer Brett joined Martin for that last stroll; she captured each farewell with a photograph that she later posted on Twitter. His community really cherishes him and sees him as a member of the family because of his kindness and enormous heart.

When the neighbors heard that Mr. Martin was going to Hawaii, they banded together to give the postman a well-earned vacation. Along with the unexpected departure, they started a GoFundMe campaign to raise the required funds.

“Thank you for considering me. Martin believes that the greatest need the world has is for people to love, care, and have compassion for one another.

Over the years, this man showed the community a lot of love, but he only got a small portion of that love in return. Mr. Floyd is an example of a person who is dedicated to their work and expresses themselves clearly.

We’re delighted to see that the charitable community knows how to express its gratitude for his friendship and work because his campaign was a complete success. It’s not unexpected that his moving tale captured such a large audience.
