Shawn Johnson is an American gymnast who was the Olympic champion in beam exercises and the silver medalist in the absolute championship, floor exercise, and team competitions in gymnastics at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. She was also the absolute world champion in 2007 and the USA’s absolute champion in 2007 and 2008. She also won the eighth season of the American television show Dancing with the Stars in 2009.
Throughout 2008, Johnson led a more balanced life, which is unusual for elite-level gymnasts. She was only allowed to train for 25 hours per week, rather than the usual 40. Furthermore, unlike many of her competitors, she attended a free public school. Sean was an honors student who participated in football games and other extracurricular activities.
