We take so many things for granted in our daily lives. Simple security, stability, and shelter are all commodities that many people in this world lack.
This is especially true in light of the present conflict in Ukraine. Every day, families have been ripped apart and separated, and all they want is a sense of protection and security.
Many families are being split as a result of the present humanitarian catastrophe in that region. This was exactly the case for Hassan, an 11-year-old child.
Having to flee Ukraine to escape the Russian invasion, Hassan made the brave journey to Slovakia all by himself. With just his brother’s number written on his hand, he shows immense bravery.
After spending more than a whole day traveling by train, Hassan safely arrives in Slovakia all alone. However, the rest of his family would soon join him as they fled later.
Hassan and his family have had to flee a war-torn country on several occasions. They arrived in Ukraine after fleeing a conflict in Syria a few years ago.
You can only hope that people have access to a sense of security when it comes to fundamental human rights. Hassan, 11, hopes that his life will only get better from here.
