I enjoy talking to my cats and having them respond. They sometimes just sit there slowly blinking at me, which I interpret as contentment. Other times, I’ll ask one of them if they have anything to say… my male cat says “MEOW!” or “ROWR!” and my female cat says a higher pitched “Mew!” I don’t think they’ve been as cute as this kitten in this video… but don’t tell them that. I prefer to be relatively scratch-free.
The kitten in question is curled up on his mother’s plate. He’s a little larger than a newborn, but he’s still small enough to fit on the plate. He won’t be long before he dwarfs the plate, though. His mother approaches him with the camera and begins speaking to him. He responds with the cutest “meows” ever captured on tape. This goes on for about a minute of back-and-forth before the video ends.
Another undisputed fact is that the kitten has already figured out his place in this household’s hierarchy: he rules it. He has already claimed this plate as one of his thrones, and he will only abdicate it when HE is ready. He only requires a crown and a scepter to be held in his tiny little paws. Oh, and a cape, because kings love to wear them. Then… he’ll be King Kitty… of that house, at the very least.
I’d hope his mother would wash the plate afterward unless she’s just using it for decoration. Still, if she has a visitor, would she want to show them a plate with cat hair on it? If one of my cats did that, I’d wash it at least three times before reintroducing it. On the other hand, I can be a bit of a neat freak. If you have a cat who does it, washing it twice should suffice…
