Siri may be fluent in nearly two dozen languages, including English with accents from New Zealand, Ireland, and South Africa. She may even be able to muddle through Scottish English. But there is one vernacular that will send her to her knees every time: toddler speak.
In the video below, you can see her trying, truly trying, to understand what the two-year-old is saying, but their discussion is at best circular.
The little lady tries some flattery (“I’m glad that you came to see me on Daddy’s phone with your colorful mouth”) but is stoically rebuffed by the virtual personal assistant (“I don’t understand”).
The roughly 1:19 conversation quickly spirals downward from there. And people are loving it!
“This is the exact same conversation I have with my spouse ALL THE TIME!!!” one commenter said after seeing the brief video.
“Lol this was just like my young niece Kiara and Siri except she kept asking Siri for ‘Wanna Build A Snowman’ sadly when Siri didn’t understand, my niece’s response was,’ she so rude,'” another user remarked.
Siri has a reputation for being a touch snarky with her responses. When someone told Siri he loved her, she answered, “Let’s just be buddies,” according to another user.
