Many of our four-legged pals have particular sounds that they use to communicate with us when they are happy, angry, or, of course, hungry. Sometimes the noises are enigmatic, or at least not what we expected.
Although cats are generally quiet, they can make a variety of sounds, including meowing, meowing, growling, hissing, chirping, chattering, caterwauling, and purring. There is some evidence that cats have discovered that making a sound similar to a baby’s scream would always garner their humans’ attention. Clever cats alter their voices until they discover the perfect version!
The cat sounding off in the video below is a cute little Himalayan kitten. It’s unclear how the breed received its moniker. One possible explanation is the passing resemblance between its color scheme and that of numerous creatures found near the Himalayas Mountains. In any case, this long-haired breed with a light coat and dark fur on the face, ears, and paws is the product of a cross between Persians and Siamese. That Siamese ancestry is evident in the typical Himalayan personality: intellectual, social, playful, good-natured, and loud. They crave compassion and attention and will create unusually strong ties with those they care about. They’re fantastic pets as long as you don’t mind the fact that they require a lot of brushing.
When this little furball gets hungry, she lets everyone know. What isn’t evident is who she’s attempting to sound like. It sounds like a bizarre, yet endearing, cross between a human baby cry and a goat bleat. It’s evident how eager she is for a sip of milk once she’s up on her human mom’s lap. The kitten greedily reaches for the bottle before being allowed to drink down as much as she can and then more!
