Music is the universal language that unites us all, especially young children. Opera music may not be for everyone, but no one can dispute that the voices of opera singers can elicit strong emotions as they sing with passion and intensity.
This was recently on show when a mother caught a sweet moment when her young son first heard Andrea Bocelli sing. As she begins the song, the mother is filming a close-up of her kid, Abriel.
The song begins with the children’s character “Elmo” singing, and you can tell by the child’s expression that he has heard that voice many times, therefore it brings him great delight as he smiles and laughs.
When he hears Andrea Bocelli take over, the real show begins. Abriel displays a wide range of complex emotions right away. It’s as if Bocelli’s voice is filling his little body with sentiments he can’t control or understand, but he FEELS the wonderful music just like everyone else.
Abriel never complains or fusses as if he wants to hear more Elmo; instead, he listens intently, and the emotion on his face indicates that the song is touching him. He purses his lips, and tears appear to well up in his eyes.
When Elmo returns to the song, the tiny baby smiles and laughs, but when Bocelli enters, his expression changes. Abriel appears to be a budding opera enthusiast when he grows up, as he seems to adore Bocelli as much as we do.
