Animals may provide a great deal of consolation to people in times of distress.
It’s understandable that when faced with the prospect of death, many individuals desire nothing more than the company of their cherished pets.
A dying woman just had a wonderful visit from her favorite pet.
Lisa McDonald and her sister have been caring for their ailing mother, who has been in hospice care.
They were looking for ways to make her last days special – and were inspired by their mother’s obsession with the classic Disney movie, Bambi.
“She has Bambi statues everywhere, she wears a Bambi T-shirt in her bed,” Lisa wrote a post in the group The Kindness Pandemic.
“My sister and I and the rest of the supporting family also wear Bambi T-shirts… we call them our nurse uniforms. »
While the mother’s health was deteriorating, the family decided to surprise her with the visit of a real Bambi- a real deer!
When the deer enters the room, the old woman is overjoyed and stunned with surprise.
The deer, known as “Bambi,” is a product of a couple’s farm.
The pair orphaned the deer and raised it by hand.
Lisa adds that they paid a special visit, driving two hours from Melbourne “out of pure love and generosity” to bring the deer-loving old lady a little joy.
“I will never thank them enough for what they have done for my mom and my family,” Lisa wrote.
It was definitely worth it: the visit of the deer was an unforgettable and comforting moment, as the mom gently caresses the real Bambi from her bed.
